Paula Pike started in the LTCi industry 17 years ago as a Kelly Temp in a career office. From there she became the DVP’s assistant for two years and had the opportunity to travel all over the US assisting with meetings, conventions and trainings. She was part of the Workshop Selling program for a period of time and worked with agents throughout the US. She then worked with the LTC Wholesaler Team for twelve years as a Regional Assistant, helping with all backroom business, assisting both the wholesalers and the financial advisors with their applications and pending business.
We are proud to have her as our Operations Director. She considers the agents extended family and is always there for them when they need an ear or a hug. Her job includes transaction-intensive activities, customer administration and inquiries, claims, data entry or payment processing. No matter whom the carrier is or what type of product they offer, the back-office has a significant impact on the loyalty of our customers and the profitability of the agency and its agents. With her extensive back office experience in the retirement planning and financial security industry; it’s important not to underestimate the impact of back-office operations on business growth and competitive advantage.
Paula has strong interpersonal communication, exceptional organizational skills, professional affiliations and experience as front-line client support. She continues to develop her product knowledge and strong customer service. She has a strong drive to see a project through to the end, dedicated service, high standard of service, and the tenacity to get the job done.
Paula is responsible for the overall administrative support to the entire agency. She acts as a liaison for case management, licensing, commissions, claims, policyholder services, new business, and general administration questions and issues.
Specific duties to those she supports include:
- Provide support in the onboarding of new agents to the agency
- Interact with the various carriers New Business, Underwriting and Licensing Departments
- Manage lead distribution and assign leads to agents
- Handle all contracting and appointment paperwork
- Manage and update our Agency CRM
- Manage the Agency's unassigned clients to include the reassigning of clients to new servicing agents as well as the necessary home office interface.
- Develop and manage pending business reports for the agents and troubleshoot pending applications, wayward policies
- Assist in targeting of potential growth areas for the agency
- Organize and facilitate trainings, meetings and mailings
She has three grown children whom she is very proud of. Jason works at OHSU in the Veterinary Training Hospital teaching students how to x-ray large and small animals. He has his wife have two boys, Matthew a Sophomore at OSHU and Jeffrey who’ll be graduating in June from West Albany HS. Jennifer is an RN and works at UCSF in the cardiac intensive care ward. She is married and they have two golden retrievers (my four legged grandsons). My youngest is Kimberly, she works at the Davenport Hospital as a billing specialist. She has two wonderful babies, Kaydence 11 and Isaak 6, who spend a good amount of time with me after school and in the summer months.
Paula has several passions, most of all, she loves giving back to the community at large. She's active with the local PTA and Chamber of Commerce. She enjoys baking for special events /holidays at the school and loves being Santa’s helper in December for pictures. She even dresses in Victorian apparel at her local Historical Opera House. All of these passions have been noticed and recently, Paula was the recipient of the WASA Community Service Award!
She loves art of all kinds with her greatest passion being quilting. She gives almost all of the pieces that she makes away to friends and family. She enjoys crocheting, coloring and drawing, painting and often share these pieces with friends and family as little gifts.
